Superior Leak Free Ventilation - NuMask's patented IntraOral Mask (IOM) provides superior performance over traditional face masks due to its intra-oral placement that combines multiple layers of leak-free wet seals. By securing its placement inside the gum line, the NuMask IOM maintains ideal positioning while forming tight seals regardless of facial features, facial hair, and/or maxillofacial trauma. When utilizing NuMask's unique grips, a single provider easily obtains consistently 100% seals while procuring superior ventilation otherwise impossible in traditional facemasks.

The NuMask patented oropharyngeal airway (OPA) is custom-designed to integrate with the IOM for patients requiring an oropharyngeal airway independent of specific patient head positioning. Its cutting edge advantages boast a firm yet pliable construction with soft rounded edges that prevent dental/mucosal injury. Numask's streamline design and laterally enhanced air channels also simplify insertion while increasing patient airflow.

Control - The IOM's intra-oral placement and 100% seal allows the provider absolute authority and control of minimum/maximum range in respiratory aid. In a spontaneously breathing patient, the IOM may be inserted with bag/valve and oxygen attached, creating an ultra efficient non re-breather mask ideal for pre-oxygenation. Partial ventilatory assistance is more effectively provided for fatiguing patients by real-time observation of fog in the mask stem, and by holding gentle hand pressure on the anesthesia/resuscitator bag. Due to its superior mask seal, inspiration and exhalation are easily felt in the providers hand, and stem fogging is readily visualized.

Comfort and Compliance -Large outmoded full-face masks may trigger patient anxiety and claustrophobia, further complicating patient respiration and receptiveness. The NuMask IOM's intraoral placement alleviates this unnecessary stress that hinders patient aid. Additionally, NuMask's multiple grip options allow tracking of the patient's head if resistance to assistance is present due to hypoxia, head injury, respiratory failure, intoxicants, etc. The mask's intra-oral placement allows a single provider to ventilate challenging patients with ease, confidence, and authority.

Advanced Design - The IOM is also translucent. Clinicians are able to view the accurate placement of the OPA, as well as detect much earlier any possible signs of emesis and secretions than the traditional facemask permits. NuMask offers another breakthrough IOM design in its lack of an inflated cushion, translating into an increased durability, longer shelf life, and atmospheric invulnerability, i.e. pressure changes (high altitude rescue/aviation transport/hyperbaric environments).
